Don't forget "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" = Warm thoughts from here to there and to a quick two weeks for you in the sun!

Transporting yourself to beautiful places is a great way of coping with the unpleasant parts of the treatment. Perhaps you can start to plan a real trip for next year, when all this is behind you.

I am so glad that you have such cheerful drivers. It does seem to depend on where you live - not an NHS decision but the availability of volunteer drivers. Devon seems to have a lot of very generous people.

What a marvellous meditative way to manage mayhem! Sending Rumi with love : 'Only Breath' - Not CHristian or Jew or Muslim, not Hindu, Buddhist, sufi or zen. Not any religion,or cultural system. I am not from the east or the west, not out of the ocean or up from the ground, not natural or ethereal, not composed of element at all, I do not exist, am not an entity of this world or the next, did not descend fromAdam and Eve or any origin story. My place is placeless, a trace of the traceless. Neither body nor soul, I belong to the beloved, have seen the two worlds as one and that one call to and know, first, last, outer, inner, only that breath breathing human being. ... There is a way between voice and prescence where information flows. In disciplined silence it opens, with wandering talk it closes. All my silences I send to you M x

Ah, good to hear how you've been getting on, even if it a report of what must be quite a test of endurance. I've been thinking of you and wondering if the advent of snow has added to your difficulties - so glad to hear you have cheerful drivers to get you from A to B. Our local paper is full of stories of good samaritans helping each other out or going the extra mile in the extreme weather we are having here. Very cheering.

Your powers of meditation are humbling. I worked in Liguria for a while and knew some of the beaches there - greatly preferable to a cold day in hospital!

Sending you warm and cheering thoughts. KBO, as Churchill would say.
x
